Super Bowl
Come on down to Ustinov Bar on Sunday 3rd of February to enjoy the Super Bowl with your fellow Ustinovians! The game will be running on all the screens and light refreshments will be provided. This is a great opportunity to experience some American sports culture even while in England. Go Rams or Go Patriots! You choose! More information can be found at:

Chinese Spring Festival Gala
Do you want to know how Chinese people celebrate their Lunar New Year? Come down with friends and families and watch the 2019 CCTV Spring Festival Gala on Ustinov bar on Monday 4th February, which rooted in Chinese traditional celebration of the lunar Chinese New Year of pig. The whole celebration will last four hours from 12.0-4.0 pm. Enjoy watching the gala in the UK with interesting and popular programs such as cross-talk, magic trick, singing and dancing! Ustinov Live
We’re back, Ustinov! The first Ustinov Live of the year will take place on Friday 8th February at 9pm. Come on down to Sheraton bar for a wonderful evening of live entertainment. We’re looking for as many people to participate as possible; if you can sing, dance, play an instrument, read poetry or any other hidden talent you would like to showcase, then contact Alastair Stewart at alastair.j.stewart@durham.ac.uk . Don’t be shy, the more the merrier!

Clubs and Societies Fair Reloaded! In case you missed the first fair in October or you just want to try something new this term, come down to Sheraton Bar on Sunday, February 10 and meet representatives from every Ustinov College society. Whether you want to join a sports club, play boardgames, learn about hairstyles or try your drama skills we have a society for you.

General Meeting
Elections! Votes! Democracy! Pizza!
The next GCR General Meeting will be held on the 10th of February at 7pm (right after the Clubs and Societies Fair!). A couple of positions on the Executive Committee have now opened up and we would love for you to get involved. In particular, the roles of Social Secretary and Livers Out Representative are up for grabs. For more information on these roles and what they involve, check out the webpage .
Come on down to Sheraton Park café at 7pm to vote on some important issues, hear about what your committee has been up to over the last little while and ask any burning questions you may have! Angel by Henry Naylor
An award winning play: the ‘Angel by Henry Naylor’ will be performed under Durham Student Theatre next week. The play was first performed at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 and since then won a chain of awards, including the Fringe First award. It is inspired by the true story of Rehana, a Kurdish fighter who became a symbol of resistance against Islamic State. If you are interested in it, don’t forget to book a ticket in advance!
