In the beginning of summer, right as the weather changes from “very cold” to “less cold” in Durham, every college has their “College Day.” Ustinov’s “College Day” is celebrated with a larger-than-life BBQ. The BBQ is free to all who attend. There is food, carnival games, live music, a DJ party and even an adult bouncy house! The BBQ also caters to students with families as there is a “kid’s zone” complete with a petting zoo, a bouncy castle, face painting and even a magic show. Overall, the “Summer BBQ”, as we call it is the largest social event at Ustinov college and one of the many highlights of the year.
